Located on a 350 square meter site, in the shape of a parallelogram, the building takes the dimensional constraints and the shape of the site as a starting point in its volumetric development.Save this picture!Courtesy of SMAADue to this, the ground floor, with its facade composed of a continuous wood surface that is attached to the side yard fences, is laid out parallel to the street, while the volume of the first floor is laid out parallel to the sides of the plot. Following these volumetric premises displacement, the two levels have different orientations.Save this picture!Courtesy of SMAAThe compact design and arrangement of interior spaces in an area of only 85 square meters on the ground floor handles an open functional flow of living room, dining and kitchen. Taking advantage of the afternoon light, the ground floor opens to a west facing intimate backyard, while the first floor, with its three bedrooms, benefits from the light of dawn, facing east.Save this picture!Courtesy of SMAAThe cross-sectional configuration of the building values and gives a hierarchy to the spaces, generating heights consistent with the importance of each space, despite their small size in plan, creating spaces with different senses of scale in the vertical direction. The living room has a full height, with large glass surfaces in direct contact with the courtyard, while the rooms on the top floor have more intimate proportions. The furniture in the rooms, with white and smooth surfaces, accentuate the feeling of space, in balance with the materials used on the ground floor, where the extensive use of wood and slate dominate the living area.Save this picture!SectionProject gallerySee allShow lessAbrante Lookout / Jose Luis Bermejo MartínSelected ProjectsVIDEO: Peres Center for PeaceMisc Share Architects: SMAA Year Completion year of this architecture project CopyHouses•Bucharest, Romania ArchDaily “COPY” 2012 “COPY” Projectslast_img
