Employers get tough in targeting talent


first_imgEmployers are making recruitment procedures increasingly rigorous to makesure they employ only the best candidates. A survey by publisher GTI of 500 companies reveals online screening of jobapplicants has risen from 12 per cent in 2000 to 54 per cent in 2001. More than a quarter of employers used some form of psychometric test lastyear, up from 17 per cent the previous year. Graduate Recruitment Trends also shows employers are increasingly demandinggraduates demonstrate essential skills during job interviews. Four out of 10 companies used group exercises last year, a rise of 14 percent on the previous year, and the proportion of firms asking candidates togive presentations jumped 12 per cent to 37 per cent over the same period.
