Bahrain Air has announced that it has launched its first flight between Bahrain and Kuwait City as part of its expansion within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).The airline will operate ten weekly flights between the Middle East destinations, plus a further four between Kuwait and Beirut. The inaugural flight was greeted at Kuwait International Airport by a water cannon salute and a welcoming ceremony for the arriving delegation, which included a number of officials from the Embassy of Kuwait.Commenting on the launch of the service, Ibrahim Abdullah Alhamer, managing director of Bahrain Air, said: “As our airline undergoes dynamic development, it is of key importance for us not only to offer new routes and services, but also to become more easily available to our customers.”Mr Alhamer added that the new route reflects the airline’s dual objectives of expansion and providing the best service for passengers.Bahrain Air announced earlier this month that it had added a third aircraft to its fleet, with an additional order for next year set to take the airline’s total fleet size to seven.
